In June 2004, Hummingbird Inn joined the race with 5 other properties in Dominica to become BENCHMARKED 2005, by Green Globe 21, committed to the highest environmental Best Practices in the Tourism Sector and in the World. We were successful in both becoming Green Globe Certificated and Bench marked. This year we are in the process of re-certification.
Dominica has been selected as the first Green Globe destination in the Caribbean and heralded by the Skin Diver magazine as one of the top 5 dive destinations in the world. Its underwater realm is as diverse and striking as it is above sea level. Recently dubbed "The whale watching capitol of the entire Caribbean" by the International Fund for Animal Welfare, offering spectacular concerts of flukes and blows along with the added attraction of hundreds of playful dolphins.
